The entrance of KURA: a round doorway with a lit noren curtain

Since 2021 — Nagasaki

Private-room Japanese izakaya by Nagasaki StationKURA — Nagasaki Seafood & Charcoal-Grilled Yakitori

A storehouse
for Nagasaki evenings.

A few minutes' walk from Nagasaki Station, in the Nakamachi district. Step through the round doorway hung with a noren curtain, follow a corridor lit only at floor level, and you'll find a row of quiet private rooms.

Fish landed in Nagasaki, Arita chicken grilled over charcoal, A5 Nagasaki Wagyu — and shochu and whisky you rarely see elsewhere. Kura means “storehouse”, and ours is stocked with the very best we can offer for the time you share with the people who matter.

What makes KURA special

Premium shochu including Maou and Mori Izo

A storehouse of hard-to-find spirits.

From premium shochu such as Mori Izo and Maou to Yamazaki 12, Hibiki and Yoichi whisky. If you love trying something different — or something you won't see on most menus — this is the place for you.

Our drinks
Grilled meat with asparagus and a green herb sauce

Nagasaki's seasons, over charcoal.

Sashimi and seared fish from Nagasaki waters, aged Arita chicken grilled over charcoal, A5 Nagasaki Wagyu, Kumamoto basashi (horse-meat sashimi) and whale, long a part of Nagasaki's food culture. Every dish is made to go with a good drink, and served on Japanese ceramics.
